There's nothing quite like being thrust off the side of a building to round out your Vegas vacation.
On the X Scream atop the Stratosphere Tower, a 69-foot pivoting track propels as many as eight passengers almost 30 feet over the edge of the building at 30 mph almost 900 feet above the ground. If you're trying to do the math, don't bother. Just trust me when I say it's really fast, really high … and really scary! This ride is specifically designed to draw on each passenger's primal fear of falling.
Remember those super fun teeter-totters from your childhood? Well X Scream is sort of like that. Except it's a bit more high-tech. And it sits atop the tallest building west of the Mississippi instead of in an innocent playground. X Scream joins the Big Shot, Insanity -- The Ride and SkyJump Las Vegas, forming a more intense kind of playground -- a playground for thrill seekers (or those on the losing end of a dare).
Even with top-of-the-line safety features, there are moments when it seems pretty likely you're about to be launched face first into the traffic below ... and surprisingly, you kind of like it.
If you don't frighten easily, or you like living on the edge, then head to the front row on the X Scream. The view of the Las Vegas valley alone is well worth the rush.
